Charity firewalk to take place in West Cumbria in November

The Harrington Youth Club, A New Hope Cumbria, and St Mary’s Church on the Hill, Harrington, are organising the fundraiser on November 2, at St Mary’s Church on the Hill, Harrington.

Initially planned as a fundraiser for the three hosts, corporate sponsorship from Amentum, Dobies Charitable Trust, Harrington Sea Anglers, Holman Iggusund, and Nuestra Family Restaurants Ltd, has allowed the event to benefit any good cause or charity.

Charlotte Thompson, chair of the Harrington Youth Club, said: “We always need fundraisers, but so do so many other local charities and good causes.”

Her son, Rowan, is taking part to raise money for the Ani-mel Haven animal sanctuary.

Other participating organisations include The Solway Hall, Blue Sky Trust, Rosehill Youth Theatre, Autism Support Allerdale and Copeland, and Silent Footprints.

Entry fees are £20 for participants raising sponsorship money for a charity or £30 for those taking on the challenge for fun.

The hosts will share the entry fees, while sponsor money will go directly to the beneficiaries.

This event is made possible by Elio and the team at Inspire Firewalk.
