Improving everyone's lives is aim of Ealing Climate Week

More than 40 events will feature the theme of Better Living from September 20-28.

Each is designed to inspire people to make simple changes which can make their lives better by saving money, getting fitter and reducing waste.

Events, organised by the council or its partners, include:

  • a free school uniform swap at the ReActon hub in Stirling Road, Acton on Saturday, September 27
  • Ealing Park Ride for families and cyclists of all abilities from Pitshanger Park or Churchfields Recreation Ground, September 27
  • Ealing Repair Café, where people can learn how to mend or upcycle their clothes, September 23
  • Southall Community Alliance will be sharing tips and advice on how to save money on energy bills, September 23
  • Energy Support Hub at Acton Baptist Church, open to all, also with bill-saving advice, September 20.

Meanwhile, charities GoodGym Ealing and We Run Ealing are inviting people to join them on a special run or walk, and to donate any unwanted running gear (not footwear) to the community group Open Southall to re-use in art projects. People can sign up to take part or volunteer.

Council leader Peter Mason said: “Our first ever Ealing Climate Week is about sharing the everyday ways that we can save money, improve our health and build connections in our communities while also benefitting the environment.”
