Get ready to strut your stuff in your most daring outfits at the Conway Art Walk this Friday.

The event, which takes place on the first Friday of every month in downtown Conway, is embracing the theme “Interwoven” for September, celebrating textiles, fiber arts, and fashion.

Katie Wilson, executive director of Create Conway, and Lorrie George-Paschal, fiber arts committee chair, are excited about the event.

“I’m excited for it to bring in great crowds, and we get to see lots of art from local artists and from all over as well,” said Wilson.

Pascal added, “We have local artists’ art, we have regional artists’ art, we have local musicians. We have food trucks. And then this season, we have started fashion icons of Art Walk series on our social media pages.”

Attendees are encouraged to wear their wildest fashions to the Art Walk. Wilson shared her own fashion choice, saying, “I’ve got on this vintage jumpsuit that I just found at another Art Walk.”

Pascal, who has organized a fiber arts Exploratorium, explained, “We have a space…across the street from our Art Walk headquarters. We’ve got quilters, we’ve got people that do punch needle, we’ve got some individuals that are weavers and spinners.”

The Exploratorium aims to showcase the work of fiber artists and highlight the benefits of creative activities.

“There’s research and evidence of the benefits of making and doing, and we can actually influence the state of our own health by what we choose to do with our time,” said Pascal.

The Conway Art Walk is free and open to the public from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday. Bring the whole family for an evening of art, fashion, and fun!
