Honor has revealed its next compact flip phone, the Magic V Flip 2, and Samsung should be worried – though Honor’s spotty release record could hold it back.
The Chinese manufacturer will officially unveil the Magic V Flip 2 on 21 August, just a day after Google’s big Pixel 10 event.
As well as revealing the launch date for the Magic V Flip 2, Honor posted initial images showcasing the foldable’s design and colour options.
We’re particularly taken by the special edition Prof. Jimmy Choo edition, which sports a fetching ‘sky at night’ motif. There are also light purple, off-white, and dark grey options.

Honor Magic V Flip 2 design and likely availability
Perhaps the big design change compared to the original Honor Magic V Flip is that both of the camera modules are the same size this time around. In that sense, Honor has borrowed a leaf from the Galaxy Z Flip 7 design book, though the orientation of said cameras continues to be vertical rather than horizontal.
You still get the quirky design flourish of a camera flash element placed on the lower half of the phone, too.
That’s it for solid details, but we’re looking forward to seeing the Honor Magic V Flip 2 all the same. There aren’t quite so many flagship Flip phone options as there are full-sized foldables, with only the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra offering serious completion to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Honor, with its hardware prowess, could easily join those ranks – if it deigns to release the phone outside of China. The original Honor Magic V Flip never made an official appearance in Europe, which felt like a crying shame.
