World Cup Volunteer Center will be in Philly Fashion District – NBC10 Philadelphia

As excitement builds for next year’s FIFA World Cup 26, Philadelphia Soccer 2026 announced on Monday that the FIFA World Cup 26 Volunteer Center will be located in the Fashion District of Philadelphia.

FIFA World Cup 26 will take place June and July 2026, and is anticipated to be the largest sporting event ever with three host countries and 16 host cities, including Philadelphia. The Volunteer Center, which will be located at the Fashion District on 901 Market Street, will act as a training and recruitment location for volunteers.

There will also be an in-house FIFA museum in the center for volunteers to learn more about the history of the FIFA World Cup and Philadelphia Soccer 2026’s mission. Philadelphia Soccer 2026 is the local host committee in charge of planning and executing FIFA World Cup 26 in collaboration with the city of Philadelphia.

“Fashion District Philadelphia’s selection as the site of Philadelphia Soccer 2026’s FIFA World Cup 26™ Volunteer Center represents a significant victory for our city,” said Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker. “The center will not only help power critical volunteer efforts supporting FIFA World Cup 26™ but also generate significant economic activity for our local businesses, restaurants, and hotels. We are proud to support this effort and the thousands of volunteers who will ensure that next summer’s tournament is a success.”

The Fashion District spans three blocks in the center of downtown Philadelphia. The area is home to several designer stores, restaurants and hotels.

The Volunteer Center will be adjacent to the Pennsylvania Convention Center and within walking distance of over 6,000 hotel rooms. Public transportation is also easily accessible to the center’s location.

“The Fashion District is an ideal location for FIFA World Cup 26 Philadelphia™ to welcome and serve the thousands of volunteers who will make the games one of Philadelphia’s most successful events in history and a showcase for our city and region,” Michelle Singer, Philadelphia Soccer 2026’s Board Co-Chair, wrote in a statement. “There really is no better site to base our large volunteer effort and I am glad we were able to secure it.”

FIFA World Cup 26 is expected to recruit 3,000 volunteers from a diverse range of communities within Philadelphia. Philadelphia Soccer 2026 will be working with FIFA to interview and onboard volunteers in the coming months.
