Michigan State Police responded to a fatal crash on US 131 near Sand Lake involving a car and semi truck.
SAND LAKE, Mich. — Michigan State Police shared (MSP) that they responded to the scene of a fatal crash up near Sand Lake on US 131 on Friday.
The crash involved a car and a semi truck on northbound US-131 at 22 Mile Road.
MSP said their initial report is that traffic was slowing for an upcoming construction zone when the crash occurred.
They said the car involved in the crash was being driven by a 51-year-old Wisconsin man. The man suffered a medical issue and ran into the back of a semi-tractor trailer.
The man died at the scene. There were no other injuries reported in the crash.
The Michigan Department of Transportation said the freeway was closed on NB US 131 at 22 Mile Road (Exit 110) because of the crash. It reopened just after 8 p.m.
