Samsung’s televisions have a rich collection of applications, and soon, it is going to get even better with the addition of Instagram and revamped TikTok apps.
According to The Information, Meta’s Instagram and ByteDance’s TikTok are developing applications for TVs to widen the user base and allow people to access their platforms’ content on a big screen.
Considering that Samsung is currently the world’s number one TV brand, as it has been for the last nineteen years, the two companies may most likely be developing apps for Samsung TVs’ Tizen OS as well.
Reportedly, Instagram’s plan is to bring Reels, the brand’s short-form videos, to a larger screen. As for TikTok, it already offers an app for TVs. However, it is very basic. Now, the Chinese company is working on a more refined version of the app, focused on longer media consumption sessions.
These apps will enable Samsung TV users to access their favourite social media platforms on their devices.
