We’re expecting the baseline Google Pixel 10 smartphone to bring some meaningful improvements when it rocks up in August, but it could also feature some noteworthy omissions.
According to Android Headlines, the Google Pixel 10 will not feature a vapour cooling chamber, which means the phone will not perform as well as the Pixel 10 Pro, despite packing the same Tensor G5 chip.
Another noteworthy omission will be Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. This one is actually a flat out downgrade, as last year’s Pixel 9 did feature this next-gen network support.

Pixel 10 camera omissions
Finally, while the Pixel 10 is expected to feature a dedicated telephoto camera this time around, it won’t support the new Ultra Res Zoom or ultra-stable video recording features that the Pixel 10 Pro is expected to introduce.
The former will supply extreme AI-enhanced zoom shots, going well beyond the 8x zoom of the existing Super Res Zoom. The latter will entail a new gimbal stabilisation system in the Pro models.
We also learn that the Pixel 10 is going to have matte sides and a glossy back, rather than the Pixel 10 Pro’s glossy sides and matte back. We saw this distinction in the Pixel 9 range, so it’s no surprise.
Google is expected to announce the Pixel 10 smartphone range on August 20, with availability likely set for August 28.
