CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — A popular family attraction at the Chandler Fashion Center is closing its doors this summer.
Officials confirmed that the Crayola Experience Chandler will shut down on June 15, six years after opening.
“This was a difficult decision to make, given the impact to our team members, customers, and community we serve in Chandler,” the company said in a statement.
The 20,000-square-foot attraction opened in 2019, smaller than other locations so the company could test “a new compact operating model.” However, officials said that the smaller business format was not sustainable, citing current performance and a “challenging economic climate.”
Four Crayola Experiences remain in the nation:
- Orlando, Florida
- Mall of America – Bloomington, Minnesota
- Easton, Pennsylvania
- Plano, Texas
