18 new US citizens sworn in | Local News

EIGHTEEN new U.S. citizens were sworn in during a naturalization ceremony at the District Court for the NMI on April 22, 2025.

Patricia Phelan, U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services officer, made a motion in court to accept the applicants as new citizens. Presiding over the special court session, Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona granted the motion and welcomed the new citizens to the American family.

They are Ananette Abuan Balucanag, Valentino Villar Biado, Vivian Castro Concepcion, Gaudencia Legua Corilla, Severino Pulvera Corilla, Jomer Tungul Diyco, Melanie Gonzales Diyco, Angela Enrile Figueroa, Elina Gharti Chhetri, Cristen Hanna Joy Fuertes Hilario, Daniel Coime Jacolbe, Roneil Alamo Magpantay, Danilo Dagdagan Punzalan, Maria Rizallie Salazar Punzalan, Cheryl Zingapan Saturno, Nancy Lena Pineda Vallido, Su Xu Wesner, and Catherin Torculas Woodruff.

The CNMI’s delegate to the U.S. Congress, Kimberlyn King-Hinds, was the guest speaker.
