Wedding’s on the cards for Amazon founder and ex-CEO Jeff Bezos to his fiancee Lauren Sanchez. Quite literally. As per latest reports, the invites for the wedding of the world’s second richest man have already started being sent out to guests.
Page Six reported that the wedding will take place in Venice, Italy some time this summer. There were earlier reports of the couple heading for a June wedding on their 500 million USD yacht.
Bezos, 61, was previously married to MacKenzie Scott. Four years after their marriage ended, he announced his relationship with Sanchez, 55, a former news anchor. Sanchez too had ended her marriage to then husband Patrick Whitesell the same year.
The couple got engaged in May 2023. In an earlier interview, Sanchez told Vogue that Bezos proposed to her with a 20-carat, 2.5 million USD pink diamond that he had hidden under her pillow after dinner. She was taking her makeup off at the time and was in disbelief on seeing the ring. “When he opened the box, I think I blacked out a bit,” Sanchez said.
She also would love to take his surname, “Uh, yes, one hundred percent. I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos,” she had said when asked if she would take his surname.
She also said at the time, “We’re still thinking about the wedding, what it’s going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don’t know yet. We’ve only been engaged five months.”
