Hong Kong singer-songwriter Khalil Fong has died at the age of 41, his music label has said.
Fu Music confirmed on Saturday that Fong left the world peacefully on the morning of February 21 after fighting illness for five years with a positive attitude.
Born in 1983 in the US state of Hawaii, Fong was nurtured in Chinese culture and introduced to a wide range of music genres, including soul, funk and jazz, at a young age by his father.
He lived in Guangdong and Shanghai before moving to Hong Kong in the late 1990s.
Fong gained recognition for his R&B and soul music in the Chinese market after releasing his debut album Soulboy in 2005 with the popular song Spring Breeze. He earned a reputation for being the Hong Kong version of David Tao and Jay Chou.
His well-known songs include Love Love Love in 2006 and Singalongsong in 2008.
