Donald Trump has signed a bill compelling the country’s Justice Department (DOJ) to release its files on the late paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
The US president signed the bill on Wednesday, 19 November, giving the DOJ 30 days to release all the files it has on Epstein and his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell.
The bill also compels the DOJ to release any files it has on the investigation into Epstein’s death in prison in 2019.
The material could shed more light on the activities of Epstein, who, prior to his 2008 conviction on charges of soliciting a minor for prostitution, socialised with high-profile figures such as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The development follows the October and November releases of documents related to Epstein by Democrats on the powerful US House Oversight Committee, which obtained the trove of files via a subpoena and is investigating the Epstein case.
Among the tranche of Epstein documents it has released were numerous mentions of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Andrew was stripped of his prince and duke of York titles last month over his links with the disgraced financier. It followed the publication of Epstein survivor Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, as well as the release of the documents from Epstein’s estate.
Virginia Giuffre’s book, Nobody’s Girl, contains revelations about her sexual abuse by Epstein and his associates.
Giuffre alleged she was forced to have sex with Andrew at Maxwell’s home in London, once at Epstein’s address in Manhattan, and once on the island of Little St James.
The incident at Maxwell’s home, where the now infamous photo of the former duke with his accuser is reported to have been taken, allegedly occurred when Giuffre was 17 years old.
Andrew is accused of taking part in an orgy with “underage” girls, as well as Giuffre, during the alleged incident on Little St James.
Andrew has consistently and “vigorously” denied the allegations made against him by Giuffre.
As the world awaits the release of all Epstein files from the DOJ, Yahoo News reviews four key mentions of Andrew in the already released Epstein documents:
1. $200 massage for ‘Andrew’
On 26 September, ‘Prince Andrew’ is named in heavily redacted documents relating to Epstein, which indicate he was a passenger on the paedophile financier’s jet. The same documents describe an ‘Andrew’ receiving $200 massages.
In files released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, Andrew is named alongside Epstein, Maxwell, a bodyguard as well as two names which have been redacted.
‘Prince Andrew’ is listed as flying on Epstein’s private jet, in flight logs released by members of the US House Oversight Committee in September 2025.
The documents also show an “Andrew” listed as having a massage on Epstein’s “General Ledger” on 16 May and 11 February 2000, the committee said.
Details of Andrew being a passenger on Epstein’s private jet were previously heard in court through Maxwell’s trial – with one of her accusers, who was 14 at the time, recalling she had travelled on a flight with Andrew.
2. Andrew flew on Epstein’s plane after financier’s arrest
Flight records released by the House Oversight Committee on 17 October show that Andrew flew on Epstein’s private jet, months after the financier was arrested for soliciting a minor for prostitution.
The logs show Andrew flew with Maxwell from Luton to Edinburgh on 1 September 2006 to attend a private wedding, a few weeks after he was arrested in July.
Records show Andrew used Epstein’s private jet on four occasions in total – the other three taking being once in May 2000, and on two occasions in 1999.

3. Andrew says: ‘I can’t take any more of this’
Thousands of documents from Epstein’s estate were published by the US House Oversight Committee on 13 November – including an email exchange from March 2011 – months on from when the former prince alleged he broke off all contact with the sex offender.
After Andrew asked Epstein how he planned to respond to a press inquiry about accuser Giuffre, Epstein can be seen responding: “Im [sic] not sure how to respond, the only person she didn’t have sex with was Elvis.”
The former duke also appeared to take the issue up with Maxwell in a separate chain, saying: “Hey there! What’s all this? I don’t know anything about this! You must SAY so please. This has NOTHING to do with me.
“I can’t take any more of this.”

4. ‘Yes, she had her picture taken with Andrew’
In an exchange with a different journalist in 2011, Epstein appeared to discuss Giuffre and her photograph with Andrew.
He said: “Yes she was on my plane, and yes she had her picture taken with Andrew, as many of my employees have…
“I have never misled you, this girl is a total liar.”

Andrew has previously called into question the authenticity of the photo, telling the BBC during his infamous Newsnight interview in 2019: “Nobody can prove whether or not that photograph has been doctored but I don’t recollect that photograph ever being taken.”
5. Buckingham Palace would ‘love it’ if Andrew accuser lied
Epstein can also be seen in emails released by the US House Oversight Committee saying Buckingham Palace would “love it” if Andrew’s accuser Giuffre was “proven to be a liar”.
In his email in July 2011, Epstein can be seen talking about “Andrew’s accuser” and asking someone to “send a reporter or reporters to investigate”.
It said: “Send a reporter or reporters to investigate… the palace would love it, the girl in the photo, was nothing more than a telephone answerer, she was never 15, according to her version she worked for trump (sic), first at that age, at Mara Lago. It’s ridiculous.”

In a further email, Epstein added: “The girl who accused Prince Andrew can also easily be proven to be a liar.
“I think Buckingham Palace would love it. You should task someone to investigate the girl Virginia Roberts, that has caused the Queen’s son all this agro (sic).
“I promise you she is a fraud. You and I will be able to go to ascot [sic] for the rest of our lives.”
