Put on those comfy shoes – this is the weekend the city plays host to its biggest international arts and sports events of the year, Art Basel Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Sevens.
Do not worry, if you want to avoid the crowds there are plenty of other things to do. Here is our pick of five of the best things to do and see in Hong Kong this weekend.
1. Art Basel Hong Kong 2025
Every year, as Art Basel returns to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hong Kong galleries put on some of their best shows of the year as international visitors focus on the city’s cultural offerings.
But that is not all. We have published a guide to where to see works made by Hong Kong artists, but they are just the tip of the iceberg. A free app has been launched to help you navigate the roughly 250 art exhibitions being staged in Hong Kong and it comes with a handy map function too. Called FindArt HK, it is available for Android and iPhones.
2. Art x Bar Hopping
Join arts writer and bar fly Pamela Wong for a nine-venue art tour and bar crawl through Sheung Wan and Central, an immersive experience that combines dialogue with drinking for one night only on March 29, from 5-9pm.
