Running, for one, has grown in popularity for its physical and mental health benefits. It can boost mood, reduce anxiety, and improve overall fitness. Many individuals have also found motivation in joining run clubs, which offer structured workouts and a sense of community that encourages consistency.

2. Move every day and make it count.

Incorporating movement into a daily routine is one of the best ways to build a healthy lifestyle. The GCash Eco Run in March offers a way to do just that while supporting environmental conservation. The event will happen on March 23, along Ayala Avenue in Makati.

Organized in partnership with Silliman University, the run includes an initiative to plant a grey mangrove tree in Negros Occidental for each registered participant. GCash will match every tree planted with an additional one, effectively doubling the impact.

Mangroves serve a critical role in environmental protection, acting as barriers against coastal erosion, providing habitats for marine life, and supporting local fishing communities.

The event offers multiple race categories. The 3K and 5K races are open to participants 13 and older, while children 12 and under may join if accompanied by a parent or guardian. The 10K race is open to runners aged 16 and above.

Registration is open until March 22. Those who sign up by February 28 can avail of a P150 discount using the promo code GCASHRUNTAYO.

3. Commit to the journey

Building a healthy lifestyle takes time, and consistency is key. Whether through daily exercise, better hydration, or mindful eating, small steps contribute to long-term success. Participating in events like the GCash Eco Run not only promotes personal wellness but also strengthens environmental efforts.

Runners who register for the event through the GCash app will receive a GForest Tree Certificate on race day, recognizing their contribution to the initiative.
