It’s time to start planning!
There are so many things to consider before heading to Disney World like what new things are coming in 2025, how construction might impact you, and what apps you need on your phone! Let’s dive into what you can get on your phone for free that will seriously improve your next Disney trip.
Most people know they need to pack their best tennis shoes, their portable chargers, and their favorite Minnie Ears but did you know you also need to download 5 different apps before you even head to the parks?
The first of the four might be the most obvious and it’s the My Disney Experience App! This app is your key to Disney World and is one of the best tools you can have on your trip.
This app gives you access to wait times, your park tickets, your hotel info, your lightning lanes to skip the lines, mobile ordering your food, and so much more. The app is free and all you need is a Disney account to access all of this information that will seriously impact your vacation. This app also is where you’ll find the photos that you take around the parks and on rides!
If you only choose to download one of these apps, make it the My Disney Experience app! We promise, if you’re trying to make the most out of your vacation you need this one. Next up is another free Disney app called The Play Disney Parks App!
The Play Disney Parks App gives you free access to games and trivia that you can play at home or while you’re in the Disney parks! These games are so much fun and they are the perfect way to pass time when you’re waiting in lines at the parks or waiting for your next show.
This app has helped us find a way to connect with friends while waiting in lines or just pass the time on our solo trips. A personal favorite of ours is the Ducktales World Showcase Adventure game!
This game literally brings EPCOT to life with interactive elements scattered throughout the World Showcase while you solve mysteries with the DuckTales crew! We are huge fans of this one.
Another app to help you pass time in lines is an entertainment app! Now this one is a bit more general but it could be a variety of things. For us, we love having the Kindle App to read books on the go, the Disney+ app to watch our favorite Disney movies, and the YouTube app to watch our favorite Disney help videos (AKA AllEars.Net)!
If games aren’t your favorite way to pass time, any of these apps will be a great way to kill time in line while waiting on your favorite rides. If you aren’t quite sure what to watch, we’ve got you covered and we’ll even help you plan your Disney trip at the same time.
Next up, you’re going to need the Orlando MCO app! This app is the official app of the Orlando International Airport and it can be a true help when flying in and out of this airport.
This app gives you updates on flight status, notifications, location services for airline gates and counters, dining locations, shopping options, and even more! You can even see security wait times before heading to the airport. If you ever need information on the MCO airport, this is the app for you.
Finally, where would we be without the weather app? Our team uses a variety of weather apps but no matter which one you choose, just make sure you have one!
Orlando weather can make or break your Disney trip. From ridiculously hot summers to hurricane season and even Orlando’s brief winters, there are so many different things to pack in your park bags depending on the weather you’ll be seeing in the parks.
Planning for the weather before going to the parks is high on the necessity list! The weather can also change day to day so make sure you have the weather app downloaded.
These are just a few of the free apps you can get that will seriously help improve your Disney trip! Don’t forget to keep following AllEars for more Disney planning tips and tricks.
