Startling images show U.S. warplanes flying over the UK.
An aviation fan captured multiple F-35A stealth fighters and several supporting KC-135 refuelling tankers on Tuesday, June 17.
The photographer, who goes by the handle g.lockaviation, was at the RAF Mildenhall airbase when he took the pictures.
He says: “Three KC-135 Stratotankers from RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk, home to the 100th Air Refueling Wing of the US Air Force departed between 12noon and 12:30pm on Tuesday.

“As they departed, twelve F-35A Lightning aircraft departed RAF Lakenheath, also in Suffolk, home to the 48th Fighter Wing.
“The fighters took off in groups of four, each tanker flying with four fighter jets in tow.
“The tankers could be tracked on ADSB Exchange plane tracking website all the way to the southern coast of Italy where they then disappeared from the tracking websites.
“The designation of the fighter aircraft is currently unknown but they did not return to the UK.”
