LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – The United Longhorns fell 35-31 against the Boerne Greyhounds in an instant classic.
The Longhorns would attempt several fourth down conversions including one on the opening drive of the game to put United in the lead.
The controversy would come in the fourth quarter, the Longhorns would put up a stop on defense and look to take the lead the throw from Jorge Luna would go up to Colt Lozano. The officials would call Lozano out of bounds when it looked like he had possession of the ball and a foot down.
That would lead the Longhorns to settling for a field goal, The Greyhounds would punch in the dagger with less than a minute to go in the ball game.
United will need to shake the loss off quickly when they take on San Benito next Friday.
