March has been incredibly dry so far across the entire UK and some places have hardly seen a drop of rain all month — Bournemouth, for instance, has recorded only 0.6mm rainfall. But this remarkably dry weather is about to change.

High pressure has kept the country dry, sunny and cold at night, particularly in the south. But that high pressure is slipping away and in its place the remnants of storms are coming up from Portugal and Spain, which have been battered for the past three weeks.
