UK is a ‘pretty terrible place’ to be a female entrepreneur

Conditions for female founders hoping to raise investment are “getting worse and not better”, a leading female entrepreneur has told the Commons.

Debbie Wosskow, a serial entrepreneur and investor who co-chairs the government’s Invest in Women Taskforce, said the UK is a “pretty terrible place” to be a female entrepreneur, while giving evidence to the women and equalities committee on Wednesday.

The hearing comes after the committee launched an inquiry in February to examine the state of female entrepreneurship in the UK and the barriers women face when building their companies.
