UK draws up £18.5bn retaliation list of US imports

From Jack Daniels and Harley-Davidson motorcycles to Teslas and John Deere tractors, Britain imported goods worth £62 billion from America last year.

The UK is now considering targeting £18.5 billion of US imports if it chooses to retaliate against President Trump’s tariffs.

The government has published a potential list of more than 8,000 products imported from the United States that could be taxed in a future response to Trump’s 10 per cent blanket tariff on British imports.

Analysis by The Times shows that collectively, the US imports on the hit list were worth £18.46 billion last year, accounting for nearly a third of the total.
