Britain is “confident” about the security of military personnel working alongside their American counterparts, the defence secretary has said despite the Trump administration leaking battle plans,
John Healey said the UK handled communications about future missions in “secure ways” as he was asked about a joint operation with the US on Tuesday evening to take out Houthi targets in Yemen.
The operation, which involved an RAF strike against a drone manufacturing facility, was the first military action authorised by the Labour government. It was also the first time Britain joined America’s intense US bombing campaign against the Houthis since President Trump began his second term.
