Tiger Woods is set to make his first PGA Tour appearance of the season at the Genesis Invitational next week, live on Sky Sports.

Woods’ last golf tournament, outside of the TGL, was The Open in July where he missed the cut and he has not played a PGA Tour event since the Genesis Invitational last year.

The 49-year-old had surgery in September on his lower back and played with his son, Charlie Woods, in an exhibition event in December, before competing twice in TGL in January.

Tiger Woods revealed last week that his mother had died.

“Tournament host Tiger Woods is committed to play in the 2025 Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines,” wrote Genesis Invitational on social media.

The Woods-hosted Genesis Invitational on February 13-16 has been relocated to Torrey Pines following the Los Angeles wildfires.

Torrey Pines is already a regular venue on the PGA Tour, hosting the Farmers Insurance Open, while it also staged the US Open in 2008 and 2021, won by Woods and Jon Rahm respectively.

The Genesis Invitational is one of the PGA Tour’s signature events, with limited-field events and offering increased purses.

Woods has only made 11 competitive starts since his career-threatening car crash in February 2021, with the 15-time major winner missing the cut in three of the four majors last year.

He withdrew during the second round of last year’s Genesis Invitational due to illness and then finished last of those who made the cut at The Masters, before making early exits at the PGA Championship, US Open and The Open.

Woods was inside the world’s top five in 2019, the year he claimed his fifth Masters victory before adding a record-equalling 82nd PGA Tour title at the Zozo Championship, but has since dropped outside of the world’s top 1,000 due to his limited playing schedule.
