“I launched Purpose in my living room and the story around that is that it’s illegal to have a boutique in your living room — that’s why I opened storefronts. But what I did in the beginning was just opened a little boutique in my living room and invited girlfriends over,” Johnson said. “The whole business started with a little Purpose Party. And then when the stores launched, I thought, ‘OK, I don’t want to lose this.’”

“You’re sharing your friends with us, they’re shopping, it’s really fun. You can bring drinks and snacks, or we can do that. We figure out all those details, but we make it like a real party in the store,” Johnson said. “We can close down the store, and you have it to yourself. You have the stylist to yourself. It’s really fun.”
For the best experience at your Purpose Party, Johnson suggests inviting a group of around 5 to 10 people.
