The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is making its highly anticipated return in 2025, marking another milestone in the iconic runway show’s comeback.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, July 29, the intimates brand teased a cryptic message, “Lights, Camera, Angels: The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2025 is returning.”

The announcement signals that one of fashion’s most watched events is continuing its resurgence after coming back to the spotlight in 2024.

The viral Instagram clip that broke the news showcased several models in close-up shots, each tapping a microphone to capture attention from viewers.

While the brand strategically kept details under wraps, they didn’t leave fans completely in the dark about how to stay informed. Victoria’s Secret directed eager followers to download the VS app, promising that more details about the show would be revealed in the coming days and weeks.

The timing of this announcement is particularly significant given the success of the show’s return last year. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show had its revival in October 2024 in New York City, suggesting that the 2025 series may follow a similar timeline.

Last year’s star-studded runway became a celebration of both Victoria’s Secret’s legacy and its evolution into a more inclusive future. The returning Angel alumni read like a who’s who of supermodel royalty.

Tyra Banks, whose presence helped define the Victoria’s Secret brand for years, returned alongside Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio. The show also welcomed back more recent Angels including Jasmine Tookes and Taylor Hill, as well as Gigi Haid and Bella Hadid.

The 2024 show introduced fresh faces like Alex Consani and Valentina Sampaio, alongside the iconic mother-daughter duo Lila Moss and Kate Moss.

The runway show was abruptly cancelled in November 2019 following a period of intense scrutiny. The announcement came from Stuart B. Burgdoerfer, who served as chief financial officer of L Brands, the parent company of Victoria’s Secret at the time.

During a call with analysts, Burgdoerfer reportedly explained the strategic thinking behind the difficult decision, stating, “We’re figuring out how to advance the positioning of the brand and best communicate that to customers …”

The 2019 cancellation came shortly after former Chief Marketing Officer Ed Razek made comments to Vogue that Victoria’s Secret had no plans to hire trans or curvy models for the annual show.

“Shouldn’t you have transsexuals in the show? No. No, I don’t think we should. Well, why not? Because the show is a fantasy. It’s a 42-minute entertainment special,” Razek told the outlet.

While Razek later apologized for his remarks and stepped down from his position, the damage to the brand’s reputation had already been done.
