The Satin Trend Taking Over Fashion in 2025 – Charm

Recently, we’ve seen the comeback of the satin slip dress and skirt. Not since the days of Phoebe Philo–era Celine has the lingerie-inspired piece been so popular, and it’s officially reached closet-staple status in 2025. Perhaps its resurgence was one of the first signs that fashion was beginning to turn away from the hyper-minimalist, pared-back style that has dominated in recent years.

On the fall/winter 2025 runways, too, we started to see some shifts as designers examined female archetypes in fashion and referenced nostalgic style. This brought back a slew of silhouettes and textiles from other eras, including a lot of satin fabrics. The sleek, high-shine material was thrust into the spotlight for next season’s collections, including everything from flower-adorned heels at Saint Laurent to cocktail dresses with belted sashes at Givenchy to embellished midi skirts at Fendi. We’re expecting to see the satin trend rise and have included the best items to shop ahead.
