Samsung has just rolled out a fresh update for its Always On Display (AOD) feature as part of One UI 7, bringing improvements that make it more intuitive and user-friendly. A key highlight of this update is a better integration of Google’s live sports updates, along with a small but useful tweak to the Now Bar feature.
To install the update, head to Galaxy Store > Menu > Updates and check if version 8.8.25.5 is available for your device. Since the update only recently started rolling out, it may take a little time to reach all eligible Galaxy phones and tablets.
As per SammyGuru’s report, Samsung has fine-tuned how Google’s live sports content appears in this version of the AOD app. The redesigned UI is now cleaner and more organised, allowing you to see everything at a glance.
Another big improvement is the addition of a guided setup for Google Sports notifications on AOD. A common frustration for users has been navigating through multiple menus to get sports updates working properly.
This update introduces an easy-to-follow guide that walks you through quickly setting up your sports preferences.

The Now Bar also gets a minor but helpful tweak. If you’ve ever wondered why certain app notifications aren’t showing up, this update alerts you to those you might have accidentally turned off. It’s a small change, but one that could save a lot of confusion when trying to track down missing alerts.
