Remember, because of Easter week, Immaculate Conception will be holding its monthly spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. April 24. The dinner will remain the same for eating in or taking out.
Dinner includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread and butter, dessert and drink. Cost is $12 for adults, $5 for children, and under 5 eat free.
The dinners are held at the parish hall on West Spruce Avenue in Ravenna.
The Auxiliary of University Hospitals Portage Medical Center in Ravenna had its fashion show April 5, and it turned out to be a great event. To all of those who attended, a big “thank you.” The brunch was great, the models were right in style, and the basket auction was beyond wonderful! If you missed this year’s fashion show, we hope to see you next time.

Sandi’s Creative Corner, owned by Sandi Randulic, is located at 1155 E. Main St., Ravenna, in front of Tractor Supply. The shop offers hand-crafted gifts, local flavors, timeless finds, classes that inspire the community and more.
Sandi grew up in Kent and moved to Ravenna Township after her husband returned from Afghanistan. They bought a small farm and enjoy canning fruits and vegetables. They have horses and chickens.
Sandi learned to crochet from her grandmother when she was 6 and worked on a variety of craft mediums throughout her childhood. At Kent State University, she majored in crafts with an emphasis on woven and constructed textiles.
The crafts she makes now are jewelry, crochet, quilting and sewing, ceramics, florals, painting furniture and canning jams from the fruit on the farm.
She wanted to open the shop to support local artisans and help inspire others through offering classes. The shop currently features the work of 21 local artisans and makers, and there are five class instructors.
Upcoming classes include: Handknitted Blanket Class on April 26, Teacup Garden Class on May 3, Flower Wreath Class on May 10, Let’s Repurpose on May 15, Gourd Birdhouse Class on May 17 and Sketch on Glass Paint Class on May 22.
Also, Sandi’s Creative Corner will have booths with items from its artisans at the Kent Heritage Festival (July 5) and the Ravenna Balloon A-Fair (Sept. 27); Sandi’s will also participate during Octane Nights (Aug. 6), the car show on East Main Street in Ravenna.
