“Imagine: Giving Back for 65 Years” was the theme of So-Phis’ 65th annual Fashion Show, Luncheon and Boutique, held April 12 at the Anaheim Hilton.
Proceeds go to various Japanese American community organizations. So-Phis, a philanthropic women’s organization, was established 67 years ago but lost two years of raising funds through the fashion show due to COVID restrictions.
The emcees were ABC 7 news anchor David Ono and Helen Ota of the Grateful Crane Ensemble. Ota and Keiko Kawashima also performed John Lennon’s “Imagine” and other songs.
Drumming by OCO Kibou Taiko opened the program.
Community volunteers of all ages, including former Nisei Week Court members, modeled fashions by Hide & Squeak Kids, Tierra Murra, Shoyu Drip and Tadashi Shoji.

Lunch was prepared by Executive Banquet Chef Elvis Gonzales, Sous Chef Hans Van Den Broek and Executive Pastry Chef Raymond Esquerra.
The boutique, which was open to the public and featured more than 40 vendors, featured fashion, crafts, textiles, jewelry and more.
