Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has warned his government and supporters against accepting electronic devices, especially mobile phones, as Christmas gifts, following a series of deadly explosions involving electronic equipment in Lebanon. Speaking during a meeting on Venezuelan culture, broadcast nationally, Maduro urged caution, referencing the tragic events in Lebanon. He announced that corporate gifts from public institutions should consist of items crafted by Venezuelan artisans. Maduro shared his own gifting practices, mentioning he prefers to give books and traditional Venezuelan products like coffee and rum. Additionally, he declared that Christmas holidays in Venezuela will begin early on October 1 this year, a tradition he has implemented in previous years to express gratitude to the people.
