President Trump suggests U.S. would walk away from Ukraine Russia peace talks

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) – A stark warning from President Donald Trump Friday to Ukraine and Russia, telling the two countries that the U.S. may soon walk away from peace negotiations if progress doesn’t happen soon.

“If for some reason, one of the two parties makes it very difficult, we’re just going to say you’re foolish, you’re fools, you’re horrible people. And we’re going to just take a pass,” Trump said.

Trump’s latest comments came Friday after Secretary of State Marco Rubio said a deal needed to be figured out within a matter of days. Both men emphasized they want to end the war and appeared to be optimistic about a deal coming soon.

Vice President JD Vance echoed Trump and Rubio during a meeting Friday with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome.

“We think we have some interesting things to report on, of course, in private. So the negotiations, I won’t prejudge them, but we do feel optimistic that we can hopefully bring this war, this very brutal war, to a close,” Vance said.

What’s still not clear is whether the Trump administration is suggesting that they will abandon peace talks or all of its support for Ukraine. And the Trump not clarify that on Friday.

“Well, I don’t want to say that, but we want to see it end,” Trump said.
