The Plus Size Fashion Influencer Spotlight shines on Brieana Ofusu
Hi Brieana! To get us started, tell us about your journey as a plus size fashion influencer/content creator. How did you get started?
I started my journey as a content creator through Faith in Fashion 360, a platform that began as a blog and quickly expanded into a podcast and radio show. What started as a passion project soon became a space where I could merge faith, fashion, and storytelling. From walking the runway to producing behind the scenes, I’ve spent years building a presence that reflects both the glamor and the grit of being a plus size Black woman in the fashion industry.
About seven years ago, I launched my statement jewelry and beauty brand—rooted in the very disparities I experienced as a model who often felt unseen in traditional spaces. Content creation became a form of personal expression for me as a self-proclaimed introvert, but also a tool to help other women find their voice and confidence.
Today, I continue that mission through intentional content, empowering women’s meetups, and annual networking events that bring style, substance, and sisterhood together.
Was there a moment when you realized your content was making an impact? Tell us about it.
There was a moment that really stuck with me during one of my early networking events. A young woman pulled me aside and said, “I didn’t even plan to come, but I saw your post and felt like maybe someone like me belonged in a room like this.” She shared how seeing my content—my body, my voice, my transparency—made her feel seen in a way she hadn’t before.
That moment reminded me that impact doesn’t always show up in numbers or likes. Sometimes it’s in the quiet DMs, the conversations after an event, or the way someone stands a little taller because they saw themselves in your story. That’s when I realized my content wasn’t just about beauty or branding—it was about belonging.
Since then, I’ve been able to help other plus size women—mothers, 9-to-5 professionals, and women who have lost their spark from pouring into everyone else. My annual Galentine’s Day event has become a sacred space where the women show up, the powerful bosses connect, and yes—there are always a few tears. It’s beautiful. Watching these women rediscover their confidence.

What drives or motivates you to keep creating and showing up online?
What drives me to keep creating and showing up online is deeply personal—my 5-year-old daughter and the memory of my late mother, who passed away in 2021 after a courageous battle with lupus. My mother was my biggest supporter. She followed me to every event, symposium, and conference—quietly cheering me on and reminding me that my voice mattered.
Now, I see that same spark in my daughter. She’s finding her own creative itch, mimicking my work in the most beautiful ways and making me so proud. I show up for both of them. For the woman who believed in me before the world did, and for the little girl who’s watching me now. They are the wind beneath my wings—and my why.
How would you describe your personal style in 3–5 words?
Polished, sexy, and fashion forward.
Who or what has influenced your personal style the most?
I’m most influenced by women—especially plus size women—who don’t just wear what’s expected of them. They style the trends with their own flair, show up unapologetically, and remind the world that fashion has no size limit. They leave a little to the imagination, but they don’t gatekeep the gems that help the next woman feel confident.
One of my biggest inspirations is Sarah Jakes Roberts. While not plus size herself, the way she carries herself with elegance, edge, and divine confidence speaks to women of every shape. She embraces her identity fully—and that kind of power is contagious.
I’m also deeply inspired by plus size fashion trailblazers like Gabi Gregg, who made space for bodies like mine in mainstream fashion. Her bold, fearless approach to style helped shift the narrative and showed that plus size fashion can be sexy, elevated, and innovative. Women like her made it easier for creators like me to take up space—stylishly and unapologetically.
Because for me, true style isn’t about size. It’s about presence. It’s about walking into a room and owning every inch of your story—and your silhouette.
How do you use your platform to challenge beauty standards or push the conversation forward in plus size fashion?
I use my platform to challenge beauty standards by simply showing up—boldly, consistently, and fully in my body. As a plus-size Black woman, my presence in fashion and media is already a statement, but I go further by curating content that centers luxury, softness, and confidence in bigger bodies. From curated outfit breakdowns to red carpet hosting, I show that plus-size women don’t have to shrink to be seen—we deserve front row, spotlight, and signature looks too.
Through Bella & Co Beauty and events like my annual Galentine’s Day experience, I’ve created space for women to feel beautiful, powerful, and worthy—no matter their size or stage in life. I uplift mothers, 9-to-5ers, and women who’ve forgotten what it feels like to pour into themselves. My content isn’t about “fixing” your body—it’s about celebrating it as it is, while also redefining what beauty can look like in fashion, media, and real life.
Pushing the conversation forward means being the example, sharing the behind-the-scenes, and mentoring other plus size women who want to take up space with style and substance.
What’s one thing you wish more brands or people understood about plus size fashion or plus size consumers?
That we will spend the money! All of this talk about plus size clothing costing more money because of the prices? MAKE IT! I’ve never been one to skimp on my pieces. Quality isn’t something to take lightly.
What’s one style hack every plus size person should know?
Shapewear is not your enemy.
It’s not about hiding your body—it’s about honoring your silhouette and feeling supported in the pieces you love. The right shapewear can enhance your fit, boost your confidence, and help you walk into any room like it was built for you. It’s not a requirement, but it is a tool—and when used on your terms, it’s powerful.
Whether you’re layering under a bodycon dress or just want a smooth base for your favorite jumpsuit, don’t be afraid to explore what makes you feel good. Style should never be about restriction—it should be about choice.
Do you have a go-to styling tip that instantly boosts confidence?
A bold accessory and a good posture will change everything.
Whether it’s a statement earring, a luxury bag, or a pop-of-color lip—something intentional always elevates the look. But confidence lives in your posture. Shoulders back, chin up, and walk like you own the room, even if you had to pep talk yourself in the mirror five minutes before. Style is what you wear. Confidence is how you wear it.
What’s your biggest personal style pet peeve?
Crocs aren’t shoes. Love you though.
Is there a specific item, brand, or trend that makes you feel unstoppable? Tell us why!
Anything from my statement line, Bella & Co Beauty, makes me feel unstoppable. Whether it’s a bold pair of earrings or a luxe beauty piece, every item is designed with intention—for women who want to feel seen, styled, and unforgettable.
I created this line because I didn’t see enough pieces that spoke to the power and elegance of plus size women. When I wear Bella & Co, I’m not just accessorizing—I’m embodying confidence, culture, and main character energy. It’s a reminder that beauty should never shrink to fit the mold. It should shine in its own lane.
How do you define influence?
Being who you say you are-especially when nobody is around to see it.
What’s next for you — any exciting projects, brand collabs, or goals you’re manifesting?
Listen—I want to be your luxe plus bestie in your head! Prepare to be sick of me soon (in the best way). I’m manifesting dream collaborations with brands like Eloquii and Shea Moisture—somebody go ahead and send them my press kit because she’s ready.
This summer, I’m hosting a series of women’s networking events that create space for connection, confidence, and community. And of course, I’m already planning ahead for my signature Galentine’s Day 2026 experience—where the vibes, the powerhouse women, and the healing tears always show up right on time.
As for Bella & Co Beauty, we’re scaling up with intention. I’m preparing a bold new campaign focused on everyday luxury—showcasing statement pieces that elevate the confidence of women on the move. Think soft glam, signature earrings, and elevated beauty moments that remind you that luxury is not just a look, it’s a lifestyle. Our goal is to secure more retail partnerships, build a consistent content strategy, and position the brand for national press and boutique pop-ups in 2025 and 2026.
Big energy only—from the products to the presence.
