Pinterest is marking the second year of its partnership with the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with a preview of the hottest festival-inspired trends and an immersive pop-up designed by Chappell Roan’s creative director. During both weekends of the festival, April 11-13 and April 18-20, this on-site space will allow visitors to use the Pinterest collage feature to cut out objects from their favorite pins, creating one-of-a-kind shareable mood boards.
When they enter, visitors will be immersed in festival trends brought to life via interactive installations. On-site stylists will help visitors remix their looks with trend-inspired upgrades and accessories before they have their picture taken by a professional photographer. These photos will be added to collages created by Ramisha Sattar, Chappel Roan’s Creative Director, allowing the images to become part of the artwork.
“I use Pinterest for inspiration on so many of my creative projects,” said Sattar in a statement. “I love to use Pinterest as a tool to curate and explore things that inspire me!”
Streetwear and ‘Stereo Punk’ Among the Hottest Looks
Pinterest’s culture experts use the platform’s data-driven trendspotting technology to find the top looks destined to dominate festival grounds this season.
“Searches for Coachella start spiking at the beginning of the year on Pinterest and nearly half of those searches are driven by Gen Z,” said Sara Pollack, VP of Global Consumer Marketing at Pinterest in a statement. “This gives us an early peek into what trends are likely to pop this festival season. We’re excited to help festivalgoers put a new spin on their identity by exploring and shopping the trends on Pinterest.”
Among the top festival trends Pinterest has identified are:
- Freestyle Fits: baggy and bold looks inspired by hip-hop and R&B, including vintage jerseys and camo shorts for a throwback to Y2K-era streetwear;
- Stereo Punk: featuring all-leather everything, plaid skirts, chain belts and mohawk braids;
- Dark Ethereal: flowing silhouettes, sheer-on-sheer styling and lace for this dark-angel-meets-forest-fairy look;
- Main Pop Girl: princess pinks, full glam and bombshell curls inspired by the pop girlies who will be taking the Coachella stage; and
- Pastel Goth: a mashup of dark academia and bubblegum pink, including pastels, platform boots and skull and cross accessories for a gothic twist.
Additionally, the Pinterest Pop Culture profile will serve as the digital hub for inspiration during the entire 2025 festival season.
