During Saturday’s IPL match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, incidents of mobile phone theft occurred amid the jubilant crowd. Despite the deployment of more than 3,000 police personnel for security during the match, several spectators fell victim to mobile theft and subsequently approached the Uppal Police Station to lodge complaints.
Uppal Circle Inspector Election Reddy stated that 15 to 20 people had filed formal complaints regarding stolen mobile phones. He added that further details are yet to be ascertained regarding the thefts.
In the same match, Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma delivered a sensational performance, scoring a century off just 40 balls. This aggressive display helped SRH chase down the formidable target of 246 runs set by Punjab Kings with 8 wickets in hand and 9 balls to spare.
