Remember the viral American woman in Pakistan earlier this year? Onijah Andrew Robinson is a New Yorker who flew to Pakistan at the end of 2024 to marry a 19-year-old she met online. She refused to leave the country and was demanding money. We don’t know if she ever got that money, but when she finally did leave, she was detained in Dubai during a layover. The internet was concerned about her whereabouts, but earlier this month, she made it back to America, and now she’s become a local New York celebrity.
Since returning to New York, Onijah has been on the scene. She started working with a stylist and a makeup artist, and now she has a new hairstyle, a blunt cut bob. Before the bob, she had a split bang peaking through her hijab (she claims she is Muslim now).
This week, she officially became a Luar girl. “Respect to the law, respect to Halal, respect to Luar,” Robinson said in an Instagram post showing her wearing a bubble-gum-pink fur coat grazing against the New York City streets, a bedazzled Fendi headband, and oversize sunglasses — and of course, carrying an extra large black Luar Ana bag. Does this officially make her a New York IT girl? According to the comments hyping her up, it does. “This is genius behavior,” model Julian Perry commented. Another comment read, “This is the best product placement on earth.” Robinson announced she’s starting a YouTube channel soon, so if you thought her 15 minutes of fame were over after her Pakistan trip, think again.
