Neat has announced its “pioneering” App Hub, which is generally available and includes an application marketplace.

The video device designer’s App Hub is a development platform that hosts everyday apps in its newly launched App Marketplace, such as workplace experience, custom web apps, and shared space collaboration.

App Hub applications can then be deployed directly into Neat devices using Neat Pulse, a cloud-based platform that offers complete device control.

Hellene Yelda-Garcia, Vice President of Emerging Technologies at Neat, introduced the new app hub and marketplace via a company blog post: “Neat is incredibly proud to announce the GA of Neat App Hub and the launch of our App Marketplace, where you can access dozens of apps and tools through Neat devices for greater choice, flexibility, and inspiration.”

Let’s be clear. Neat App Hub surpasses anything previously achieved with video hardware devices by incorporating familiar mobile app experiences into devices across the workplace.”

“It’s now generally available with the certification of our first wave of applications plus an expanding ecosystem of use cases natively available on Neat devices via our newly launched App Marketplace.”

The Neat App Hub includes over two dozen providers, ranging from global market leaders at one end to specialised companies at the other, providing “innovative” applications to support daily workflows.

Neat is also reportedly expanding its App Hub with its Developer Program, through which it collaborates with app providers and developers to create new applications.

App providers’ room and desk booking solutions and digital signage apps have been made available to customers for the Neat Pad.

Furthermore, wayfinding, virtual receptionist, digital signage, visitor management, and collaboration solutions throughout Neat’s video device portfolio are entering beta. Custom web apps are due to gain beta availability in Q4 2024.

According to Neat, the applications can be shared in Teams and Zoom meetings via Neat Share, which will also go into beta in Q4 of this year.

Neat Share lets customers enter into more “engaging” and “productive” collaborative sessions, using tools and workflows on Neat devices that are usually limited to desktops.

Yelda-Garcia explains how Neat can simplify workplace demands: “Neat has been laser-focused on solving complex meeting space challenges in the simplest way from the get-go.”

“We’ve always strived to maximise the value we bring through our devices to solve your ever-evolving video meeting challenges.”

Neat App Hub is no different. It’s a testament to our ongoing commitment to giving you more choice, flexibility, and reward.”

“It makes integrating the daily applications we all rely on into today’s workplace easier, aligning with your and your teams’ growing requirements as tools and technology progress.”

Earlier this month, UC Today’s Rebekah Carter tested and reviewed Neat Board, concluding that even several years after its initial introduction, it remains an excellent tool for intuitive collaboration.

Last month, Neat provided one of the leading whisky producers, Edrington, with Teams-enabled devices to simplify meetings, remote device monitoring, and global management.

Neat Bar Pro with Neat Board, Beat Board 5O, Neat Pad, and Neat Center with Microsoft Teams are now being used at Edrington within its small, medium, and large meeting rooms.
