Many things need to be taken into account to promote a healthy lifestyle for men as they age. The Men’s Clinic in Alex City is doing its part to make that journey that much easier.
The Men’s Clinic of Lake Martin is dedicated to helping men promote a healthy lifestyle as they get older. It will offer services such as testosterone replacement therapy, nutritional supplements, hair loss treatments, body composition analysis, B-12 shots and health monitoring through advanced blood tests and blood pressure tracking.
Dr. Jack Anderson will be at the forefront of the operations. He is a board-certified anesthesiologist who earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1995.
Anderson has always been passionate about promoting a healthy lifestyle. Now, after years of research feels as though he can help those in the Lake Martin area learn all the intricate details to get started.
“I am way more interested in men’s health,” Anderson said. “It’s something that I live, I’ve exercised and worked out. (I’ve) been pretty rigid with my diet and stuff like that, just trying to be healthy. Pretty much, all my life, going back to high school, I’ve been in a gym on an exercise routine, and it’s just something that I enjoyed. I started studying all this stuff.”
Through his studying, he has learned all the integral pieces to help people get to their best regardless of where they’re starting, but the most important aspect he’s learned is how impactful the diet is.
“Somebody that’s starting to accumulate visceral fat, which is fat around your organs, fat in your liver, then that’s a sign of metabolic disease, it’s so much related to what we’re eating,” Anderson said. “That’s another thing I talk to people about – diet. I mean, (your) diet is the most important thing, and there’s so much to consider if somebody is trying to lose weight and get healthy or trying to put on muscle mass. Usually, you’re trying to do both, they want to put on muscle and most guys want to lose some weight.”
Anderson knows his service can help make a difference in the community and knows that his shared experience can ultimately change the way people view their health.
“Everything that I would coach somebody on doing I’ve done for a long time is it’s just what I’m interested in,” Anderson said. So we’ll see, I’ve got people in Montgomery that are interested, and they said they’ll come here.”
The Men’s Clinic is still in the early stages of getting started, but Anderson is ready to help make a change for those in the Lake Martin area. If interested, the clinic shares the same building as Lake Martin Medical Aesthetics and can be contacted on its website.
