New Delhi: Four men burgled a mobile shop in southwest Delhi’s Vasant Kunj on Tuesday. The owner claimed that he lost phones worth around Rs 26 lakh.
The incident took place around 3:15am, and the owner, Vivek, claimed that in just four minutes, they took away 150-200 phones.
In the CCTV footage that is making the rounds on social media, the clip reveals a coordinated heist involving three individuals.
At the start, the trio carefully opens the shop’s shutter and smashes the glass door. One perpetrator, wearing a yellow handkerchief over his face, swiftly enters and begins loading phones into a white sack from one counter. Within minutes, an accomplice in a grey t-shirt joins, filling his own sack with phones from another counter.
A third individual, wearing a black t-shirt, enters with another sack, collecting remaining items from the racks. Briefly, the thieves pause and duck behind counters, seemingly alerted to someone passing by. Resuming their loot, the black-t-shirted individual attempts to remove display phones connected to wires, triggering the alarm.
Startled by the alarm, the trio flees with their sacks filled with hundreds of new phones, Bluetooth devices, and chargers. Before escaping, the footage shows them carefully closing the broken glass door and shutter as they leave.
Vivek discovered the theft had occurred when he arrived at 9:00am on Tuesday, and he informed the cops about the incident.
Police said they have registered a case and have leads about the suspects. tnn
