WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A man is found guilty of felony theft, after being accused of scamming women out of thousands of dollars. Friday afternoon, a Sedgwick County jury found Frank Annin guilty of theft by deception. However, the jury found him not guilty of mistreatment of a dependent adult.
The jury was unable to reach a unanimous decision on the aggravating factors involving the romance scam.
Trisha, the alleged victim, said that in June 2022, she had just moved to the Wichita area and was looking for a relationship. When she found Frank Annin on eHarmony, a dating website, she had no reason to suspect anything was wrong.
Annin’s bond was revoked, but he’s already being held for an I.C.E. hold.
Sentencing for Annin is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 9.
