Magda Butrym Spring 2026 Ready to Wear, Fashion Show & Collection Review

Magda Butrym said she had a eureka moment for spring 2026 after seeing fellow famed Polish artist Paulina Olowska’s “Windows of the Wind” exhibition in Geneva, which featured several oil paintings depicting women wearing hats in winter.

“Me designing for women and her painting women — I just had this instant creative connection with her. I then saw this hat, sort of a draped swoosh, but also quite relaxed, on the cover of Vogue Poland, which turned out to be an archival piece from Noel Stewart. I knew I had to get in touch and create the first hat for the Magda Butrym women,” said the designer backstage.

The result was a range of elevated, but somewhat casual, candy floss-like giant hats in purple, yellow, and white, fit for all kinds of occasions.

With the head getting a haute treatment, Butrym reined in the brand’s seductive nature this season, and borrowed some of the most iconic couture silhouettes, giving them a folkloric and romantic spin. Standouts included jackets with raised hemlines, sculptural ruched dresses, a white corset top made out of traditional Polish crochet lace, and a red minidress with bold volume.

“The name of the collection is ‘Studio,’ because I want to show my creative process, where you see the layers, a bit of the lingerie. Everything comes with the feeling of being in the middle, like undone. For me, that’s a symbol of freedom,” the designer added.
