LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Love is in the air for two local seniors.
If you think it’s too late to get married, you should think again. As love can come at any time of your life like it did for Warren and Janice Borel.
Warren is 76 and Janice is 71 years old and today they shared a very special moment in their lives.
“I think when you want to do something later in life like this, I would say don’t wait so long. Don’t wait but with regard to a relationship later in life live in the present,” said Janice Borel.
Warren and Janice Borel met each other in a unique way through a dating app six years ago.
“We actually navigated a dating app,” said Warren and Janice.
Janice used an app called “It’s Our Time” and Warren was on “Seniors Meet.” Somehow the apps cross matched them.
They said their family was pretty shocked to hear how they had met.
“My little 10-year-old granddaughter one day in the car said honey how did you meet Warren and I said we met on a dating app and she said, ‘You have an app?’” said Janice Borel.
The two are from Louisiana and they had dozens of family and friends come support them.
Now they share multiple children and grandchildren together.
“So I have two children and five grandchildren and Warren,” said Janice Borel.
“I’ve got four children, 15 grandchildren, I mean 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren and a lot of them are here.”
The wedding and reception were held at the Verandah Retirement Community.
