Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has this weekend sent a message of assurance the way of the club’s supporters, regarding their quest for another Champions League title.

Barcelona, of course, came within a whisker of booking their spot in the finale of Europe’s elite club competition this past season.

With mere minutes remaining in injury-time in a semi-final showdown with Inter Milan, Hansi Flick’s troops found themselves a goal to the good.

Right at the death, however, Inter levelled things up, before advancing courtesy of a further goal in extra-time.

As much brought to a close Barca’s pursuit of what would have been a historic quadruple, and extended the Blaugrana’s run without a European title beyond the 10-year mark.

One individual, though, who appears confident that the Catalan club’s next Champions League crown will not be long in arriving is the aforementioned Lamine Yamal.

Speaking in an interview with Barcelona’s official media channels (as cited by Diario Sport) this weekend, Barcelona’s wing sensation explained:

“At 18 years old I ask to achieve everything we have had at 16 and 17, with the title we are missing (Champions League) and the World Cup as well. World Cup and Champions League is what I’m missing. My mentality tells me that I must go to win.”

Lamine then went as far as to assure that the Champions League ‘will return home’ before long:

“I don’t have in mind to think that I have many years left, I want to win it now. I will try and give everything to do it. Just tell the Catalans that we will be there, we will fight, I’m sure the Champions League will return home and the World Cup, too.”
