Jennifer Lopez’s Latex Jumpsuit Puts a Barbiecore Twist on F1 Fashion

Jennifer Lopez is revving up the engines… sartorially speaking, that is. The actress made an appearance at a qualifying race during the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, April 19 as a guest of Ferrari—and she didn’t hold back with her outfit for the occasion. Lopez paid tribute to the iconic F1 jumpsuits with a form-fitting latex jumpsuit of her own—but, naturally, she put her own J. Lo spin on it. She opted for a hot Barbie pink suit that featured a darker pink sash belt and matching dark pink detailing. The suit featured a silver zips that ran up the front and back of the torso.

She paired the bold jumpsuit with a pair of pink-tinted shades with stars on the sides, while she carried a metallic silver clutch. As for her footwear, she went for a pair of see-through heels with a pale pink base. She wore her hair in a super slick pony. All-in-all, the vibe was very much “Barbie does the Grand Prix.”

Lopez shared a few snaps of the appearance on Instagram, writing, “Bringing a little sparkle to F1,” along with a sparkling pink heart emoji.

Lopez’s hot pink F1 look marks a real departure from her recent slew of timeless, chic, “J. Lo does Broadway” looks. Over the course of the last month, Lopez has made a number of appearances in theaterland along with her teen, Emme. Last month, the pair coordinated in black for the premiere of Othello. A few weeks later, they once again donned black for the premiere of Good Night, and Good Luck. Lopez also went for a black and white look at this year’s Grammys and a black leather look at Sundance.

Apparently, she was more than ready to take a break from all of the black embrace some bold color for her latest outing.
