The film also stars Lakeith Stanfield and Nick Nolte, and follows Lawrence’s character Grace, a writer and young mother, who is slowly slipping into madness.
The synopsis for the film says: “Locked away in an old house in and around Montana, we see her acting increasingly agitated and erratic, leaving her companion, Jackson, increasingly worried and helpless.”
The film, which has been adapted from Ariana Harwicz’s novel, has been called a “ferociously maximalist psychodrama,” in a review by the BFI, while RogerEbert.com has called it “an unforgettable cinematic experience”.
Some who have seen the film have suggested it is about Lawrence’s character suffering from postpartum depression, but Ramsay has labelled that “just b******t”.
She said during an interview, as reported by Deadline: “It’s not about that. It’s about a relationship breaking down, it’s about love breaking down, and sex breaking down after having a baby. And it’s also about a creative block.”
Die My Love is Lawrence’s first film since 2023’s No Hard Feelings. Meanwhile, Pattinson was most recently seen in Mickey 17, while his upcoming slate includes The Batman Part II, The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three.
Die My Love will be released in cinemas in the UK and Ireland on 14th November 2025.
