Jefferson's Opera House Theatre Players plan vintage fashion show | News

With Spring in full bloom come May, Jefferson’s Opera House Theatre Players is planning a special event for all the mothers, grandmothers as well as husbands, sons and daughters of the area to join the in a trip down memory lane.

The event is a vintage fashion show called “Fashions With A Past” and features authentic clothing for ladies, gentlemen and children from the 1880s to the 1980s modeled for those attending.

The show will be held on Saturday, May 10, at an outdoor garden setting at a location to be announced and light refreshments will be served along with the show. The fashions are all from the collection of theater board president Marcia Thomas, who began her collection with many items she played “dress up” in while growing up in her grandparents home, the Texas Historical Medallion and THC site marker house called the Charles G. Graham home. As years went on, she added to her collection from estate sales, thrift shops and by receiving special pieces from acquaintances and friends who had noted her interest in antique clothes.

The vintage fashion show will be a Spring fundraiser for the local community theater group that will conclude their 36th season with a production during the July 4 weekend in Jefferson.

More information regarding tickets, location and musical entertainment will be announced in the coming weeks.
