Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average fell 3.9% to close at 31714.03, tracking Wall Street’s losses overnight amid growing worries over U.S. tariffs.
“Hopes of seeing (President) Trump roll back tariffs before they go live were dashed,” Swissquote Bank’s Ipek Ozkardeskaya wrote in an email.
Sentiment across global financial markets were also dashed, the senior analyst added.
