James Ellison, from Kendal, has been a professional racer for more than twenty years.
Last month he was thrown from his bike at Silverstone MotoGP while wildcarding in the Superstock race riding for Andre Compton powered by HSO.

He is now fighting to regain his independence and the ability to walk.
James has set up a fundraising page to help cover the costs of intensive physiotherapy programs, hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatments, red light therapy sessions, vital supplements for healing and recovery, plus travel costs for essential medical appointments.

“I’m in the hyperbaric 1-2 times a day and Cryo three times a week, plus my partner Holly drives me in an hour each day as I’m unable to drive, so fuel is a big expense.
“Once the pelvis bone has healed enough I will start physiotherapy to get mobility and strength back, which isn’t cheap. We also had to rent a wheelchair for the first two weeks as I couldn’t walk initially.”

“I’ve been racing since 1995 and have raced professionally since 2002 in almost every class from club level right through British, European, American Superbikes and Moto GP. Picking up a National and British Title, 2 European Titles, 1 World Title and runner up in British Superbikes along the way,” James said.

“It takes 100% commitment to race at professional level and I’ve always enjoyed that challenge.”
