WANA (Oct 26) – Israeli footballer Manor Solomon, currently playing for Villarreal, has been labeled the “most hated player in La Liga,” according to a Sunday report by the Spanish outlet Enfoque Judío.

The report says Solomon faces widespread hostility in Spain’s top football league due to his public support for the Israeli army amid the war in Gaza.

The Villarreal winger, who wears the number 10 shirt for Israel’s national team, has been booed by fans in nearly every La Liga match this season.

His social media activity — particularly posts backing Israel’s military operations — has sparked significant backlash from supporters across Spain and beyond.

Last summer, even Villarreal fans protested his signing, releasing a public statement calling on the club not to contract what they described as a “supporter of genocide.” Despite these objections, Villarreal proceeded with a loan deal for the player.

In a recent interview, Solomon admitted to feeling unsafe during a match against Sevilla, saying: “I felt insecure because the stadium was full of Palestinian flags.”

According to Enfoque Judío, statistics from this season show that no player in La Liga has been booed or jeered as frequently as the Israeli forward.
