Since his departure from Givenchy in late 2023, Matthew M Williams has been keeping a relatively low profile. That was, until, the beginning of June 2025, when the American designer announced he’d be launching his namesake brand at this season’s Paris Fashion Week men’s. The co-ed offering quietly debuted in the Seiya Nakamura showroom alongside collections from Craig Green and Edward Cuming. But this is fashion, after all, so with every launch comes a party.

However, rather than put on one of those boring industry parties, Williams teamed up with the notorious UK collective and club night Virus London for a proper rave. The stacked line-up featured some of the underground’s hottest acts, like Virginia rapper Babyxsosa and Australian DJ Skin On Skin, all taking over the Rex Club in the city’s ninth arrondissement. On the ground catching the mayhem was photographer CaptureCharles, who went from the booth to the bar to the smog-filled smoking area snapping fits for Dazed Fashion.

On the dancefloor, things took a rave-ready turn, with blackout sunglasses, technical sportswear and tight little tank tops spotted everywhere. Chunky jewellery your mum might’ve worn in the early 2000s was paired with bodycon dresses and halternecks, while one raver bounced around in those ginormous Balenciaga platform sneakers. While some opted for cutout leather pants and others went for backwards fitted caps, the most glaring trend of the night was the slogan tee, which now seems to pop up at every single function without fail. Behind the decks, Skin On Skin’s t-shirt declared ‘I <3 (B)ASS’, another guest was part of the ‘Paris Bastard Club’, while others proclaimed ‘THE WAR IS OVER’ or asked ‘WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPRESS?’ Can 2025 take even more slogan tees?
