I Tried Nordstrom’s New June Fashion Arrivals to Find the 9 Best

As much as I love shopping online (so much so that I’ve turned it into my full-time job), during a recent trip to Nordstrom, I was reminded that there’s nothing quite like an in-person shopping spree. This week, I spent more than two hours trying on June new arrivals, and was surprised to find that actually seeing and feeling the clothes in person drew me to hidden gems that I may have overlooked online. 

Since I know not everyone has a few hours to spare to try on clothing, I’m sharing the nine summer-ready pieces that stood out in my haul. It was love at first sight when I first laid eyes on the vibrant cherry shade of the Madewell Smocked Puff Sleeve Midi Dress, so I was beyond excited to find that it fit me perfectly. The smocked bodice has a comfortable stretch and creates a flattering, waist-cinching effect, while the long, full skirt flows beautifully.

I’ll be the first to admit that I was a tad skeptical of the sweatpants jeans craze, but when I finally tried these viral shorts for myself, I was instantly sold. They really do look indistinguishable from baggy jean shorts in person, and I loved the laidback slouchy fit.

I’ve been embracing this summer’s unexpected Bermuda shorts trend with open arms, and this knee-grazing style from Favorite Daughter is absolutely worth the splurge. These chic shorts have that tailored, menswear-inspired polish, while the elastic waistband at the back ensures maximum comfort. The Wayf Martini Drop Waist Mini Dress was my favorite thing that I tried on, thanks to the adorable bandana embroidery and sleek drop waist silhouette. I was immediately able to envision myself wearing it with white slingback heels and a headscarf on my Fourth of July trip to Nantucket.

Investing in lightweight separates that you can mix and match with tons of items you already own is a great summer style hack.
